Bardon Mill Book Club

Basically, it's about books

Next Meeting - Tues, 8th Dec

Welcome!

We're the Bardon Mill Book Club.

We're a group of people who like reading & talking about books. Most of us live in (or near) Bardon Mill, Northumberland, UK but some don't. You're welcome to join us, wherever you're from.

Each month, we choose to read a book and then meet up the next month to discuss it. If we can't make the meeting, we put our comments on the forum. This way, everyone can join in, even if they aren't in the area.

On this site you'll find out about us and the books we're reading at the moment.

Feel free to explore our site and join in the forums. If you're in the area, why not come along to one of our meetings. They're free and open to all.

We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8.00 p.m. at the Twice Brewed Inn, Military Road. If you're not sure where that is, try this -

Book of the Month Choices - Enjoy!

The Big Christmas Book Swap

Christmas is a time for giving and what better than to give fellow book club members a "new" book. Rootle through your shelves and make way for some new books by bringing the ones that you're finished with along to the book swap.

Come along on 8th December for the book swap and Christmas meeting.

There's no book for December so you get 2 months to read our next selection which is ...

January's Book "The Moonstone" by Wilkie Collins.

This book has been chosen by Anna Barker

Anna says "What better to read over Christmas than a good old-fashioned mystery?! Many people view this as the origin of the detective story and it's interesting to see how things have changed."

Let us know what you think on the forum and at the meeting on 12th January 2010.

Don't like the books - you choose one!

Could you choose our next book of the month?

Each month, a member of Bardon Mill Book Club chooses a book for the others to read. We like to give at least 2 months notice, so that people can plan ahead, share copies etc. We'd really like it if you'd would choose our next book. All you have to do, is click here
